Título: Inter-organ communication and signaling cooperation in hematopoiesis, immunity, and epithelial plasticity.
Abstract: The Brueckner lab addresses fundamental questions in hematopoiesis, innate immunity and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), using the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. Particular interests focus on the regulation of hematopoiesis by sensory neurons and their inputs, and inter-organ communication in the immune response to bacterial infection. At the signaling level, we study mechanisms of signaling cooperation, e.g. between the BMP/Mad and Akt/Tor pathways in EMT.
