The research areas of the IBioBA focus on the understanding of basic principles of biology, from dynamic molecular processes to cellular structures. In addition, seek to elucidate the molecular basis of different pathologies to contribute to the development of potential treatments.

At IBioBA the different research areas are integrates and complement each other under multidisciplinary approaches.

Within these areas the work of the research groups at IBioBA focus on the topics of molecular pathophysiology, molecular neuroendocrinology, neuroscience, neuroimmunology, cell plasticity, stem cells, and oncology.

Our institute foster an interdisciplinary scientific approach, both within its research groups – which include professionals from disciplines such as biophysics, chemistry, biology and computational biology – as well as with other institutes of the scientific ‘Polo’, specialized in computing and modelling methods and bio-physicochemistry.
