The aim of the Board of Trustees is to establish bonds with the general audience, particularly to those circles interested in the research performed at the Institute and to other potentially interested circles.
Its members come from different disciplines and contribute to publicize the activities of the Institute, its research, and have an important role in establishing relationships with other institutes or agencies.

Esteban Corley
Biologist (Universidad de Buenos Aires) and biotechnology entrepreneur. Co-founder of pharmADN and Director of mAbxience Argentina. As collaborator at the Ministry of Science and Technology, he participated in cooperation programs between the European Union and Mercosur, including BIOTECSUR and CABBIO (Argentine-Brazilian Center for Biotechnology).
Diego Golombek
Ph.D. in Biology (Universidad de Buenos Aires). Recognized chronobiologist and pioneer of science dissemination in Argentina. He received, among others, the national science prize “Bernardo Houssay”, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Konex Award in communication, the UNESCO/Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science, the Braun Menendez Prize from Argentine Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Knight of the Order of Academic Palms, Government of France.
Ricardo Hirsch
Psicologist (Universidad de Buenos Aires). President of the Board of Directors of the Pestalozzi Cultural Association (2002–2014). Recipient of the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, First Class (Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse), in 2019.
Guillermo Jaim Etcheverry
Ph.D. in Medicine (Universidad de Buenos Aires). Former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and former Rector of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA); foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (USA). In 2007 he received the Medaille d’ Or de la Societe d’ Encouragement au Progres in France.
Silvia Naishtat
Agricultural Engineer (Universidad Católica Argentina). Journalist since 1984; she joined the newspaper Clarín in 1990 and has served as Editor of its Economy section since 1994. Her distinctions include: Best Economics and Finance Journalist, as voted by her peers (1996); the Buenos Aires Herald Award for Journalistic Excellence in Print (2004); the Konex Award (2007); and a Diploma of Merit in Economic Analysis (2013). In 2013, she was appointed a member of the National Academy of Journalism, where she holds the Roberto Arlt Chair.
Luis Ovsejevich
Doctor in Legal Sciences (Universidad de Buenos Aires). Founder and President of the Konex Foundation. Former General Director of the Colón Theatre. He received several awards, including the Benefactor of the National Culture (1997), Scopus Award (2011), Outstanding Figure in the Field of Culture, as recognized by the Buenos Aires City Legislature (2023).
Thomas Pförtner
Doctor in Economics. President of the Pförtner – Cornealent Laboratory. Founder and member of the board of the Argentine-German Association for Science and Technology- ACTAA. Outstanding Figure in the Field of Health, as recognized by the Buenos Aires City Legislature (2025).
Iván Schargrodsky
Radio and television journalist. Graduate of the TEA School of Communication, where he received the Encouragement Award (2013). He has contributed to numerous radio and television programs, including C5N, Radio del Plata, Radio con Vos, and Radio 10. Founder and Director of the digital media outlet Cenital. Recipient of the “Martín Fierro” Award for Best Political and Economic Analyst in Radio (2019).
Ana María Vara
Bachelor of Arts (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies (University of California Riverside). Scientific and Investigative Journalist. Professor at the Universidad Nacional de San Martin (UNSAM). She received awards from the Baron Foundation, the Argentina Association of Magazine Editors and the Konex Award.
