The Instituto de Investigación en Biomedicina de Buenos Aires (IBioBA, CONICET-Max Planck), will hold a meeting on cellular communication
oriented to PhD students.

Next Wednesday, September 17, the third edition of the IBioBA Student Workshop: “Cell Communication and Signal Transduction” will be held at the Polo Científico Tecnológico de Palermo, with the aim of presenting the latest advances in this field of research.

The meeting, organized by fellows of the Institute in the framework of the Biomedicine Network Project of the MERCOSUR Structural Convergence Fund (FOCEM), in which IBioBA participates, is specially designed for advanced doctoral and postdoctoral students to attend.

The objective of the workshop is to discuss the latest regional advances in cell communication and signaling, DNA damage and cancer epigenetics, and to present future approaches and perspectives for their study.

The event will feature three sessions led by special guests from the region: Mariana Salatino (Institute of Biology and Experimental Medicine (IBYME, CONICET, Argentina); Lysangela Ronalte Alves (FIOCRUZ, Brazil); and José Badano (Institut Pasteur, Uruguay), in addition to presentations -in short talk format- by doctoral students or postdoctoral fellows specially selected for each panel.

In addition, there will be a poster session and a round table on the opportunities and challenges of research in this field.

Registration

Registration is free according to the capacity of the room.

The form will close once the maximum capacity has been reached.

Short Talk Presentation

If you are pursuing a doctoral degree and are researching these topics, you have the opportunity to present your work in one of the sessions. Please complete the form with your details and include an abstract of no more than 300 words on your topic. Both the abstract and the talk should be in English.

A committee will be in charge of selecting the profiles and topics that best fit the workshop panels. During the week of August 18, those selected will be notified via e-mail.

The event is sponsored by the Fund for the Structural Convergence of MERCOSUR (FOCEM) through the Biomedicine Project of which IBioBA is a member.
