We received the visit of 25 stidents from the 6th year of the International Baccalaureate (IB) of the Pestalozzi School. Upon arrival, the students listened to an introductory talk by Patricio Yankilevich, coordinator of the Bioinformatics Platform, who told them about the Institute’s research lines and groups, IBioBA’s link with the Max Planck Society, and the work of CONICET’s scientific researchers. He also told them about his work and the scope of the research he is carrying out with the Genomic Data Analysis Platform.

Then, together with researcher Sebastián Giusti, they toured different areas and laboratories of the Institute, and went through different stations where they explored various concepts being worked on at IBioBA, such as genetics, sleep, neuronal transmission, machine learning, among others.

The visit was part of the cooperation agreement that IBioBA has with the Pestalozzi Cultural Association. This agreement represents one of the pillars of the institute, which seeks to complement its basic research work with actions aimed at science communication and the promotion of scientific vocations.
