From September 17 to 19 Directors of Max Planck Institutes, along with researchers from Argentina, will present the latest advances in different scientific disciplines.
The third edition of the symposium Frontiers in Bioscience, organized by our institute, started on Monday, September 17.
For three days Directors of different Max Planck Institutes of Germany and from the Max Planck Institute in the United States, together with researchers from Argentina, will present their latest results and advances in fields such as ethology, cellular and molecular biology, microbiology and translational medicine, neurosciences, connectivity, ecology, plant biology, nano biology and structural biology, among others.
On Monday, September 17, the Director of the Institute, Dr. Eduardo Arzt; of the Vice President of the Max Planck Society, Dr. Bill Hansson; and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Argentina, Jürgen Christian Mertens, welcomed the audience. After these opening words Dr. Martin Wikelski, of the Max Planck Institute of Ornithology of Radolfzell, Germany, was in charge of the public lecture: “The Internet of animals: Humboldt’s vision becoming a reality?”.
According to Dr. Herbert Jäckle, scientific co-organizer of the symposium, “This meeting is a symbol of the deep and growing friedship between Max Planck scientists and the Argentine science community. It is an exchange of latest results at top level”.
